Assistant Treasurer/WFO Treasurer
& Welcoming Co-ordinator

I have been a member of the Falkirk Old & St Modan’s Church since early 2002, and was later Ordained as a Ruling Elder and admitted to Office in the Congregation of Falkirk Old & St Modan’s Parish Church on 27th October 2002.
My duties within the church consist of being the Assistant Treasurer. This involves assisting the Treasurer Keith Wagstaff in financial duties relating to the Weekly Freewill offering which involves collating the weekly Income details from the Envelopes each and every Sunday. I order the Envelopes each year and have them ready for distribution towards the end of the year so that they are distributed at the same time as the Christmas Magazine.
Keith & I also prepare the Annual Report of Gift Aid which is submitted to HMRC Inland Revenue each year so that we can claim for the Gift Aid for those members of the congregation have signed the appropriate Gift Aid Declaration Form associated with their giving to the Church.
As well as my financial responsibilities, I prepare and finalise the Welcoming Rota for those on duty each and every Sunday at the Church, so that members of the congregation are welcomed at the door. This duty can involve Kirk Session members and any member of the congregation who would like to volunteer. The duty entails welcoming all those who attend for Morning Worship at Falkirk Old & St Modan’s Church each Sunday, handing out the Orders of Service, Hymn Books each Sunday and welcoming everyone as they enter the main Church Door. The count of all monies collected during the Service is counted by only members of Kirk Session.
In conclusion, I wish to state how I enjoy being a member of Falkirk Old & St Modan’s Parish Church due to the fellowship and many friendships I have gained during the past 6 years. To this day I still remember the warm and friendly welcome Elizabeth & I received the first Sunday we decided to attend Morning Worship in September 2000 and in April we were to be members of a group who visited Iona for week - that too was very special due to the friendships gained, coupled with an experience which has been everlasting to this day.
