Hallglen opened its doors about thirteen years ago. A young mum in the church and others had been chatting with the Health Visitor and the minister. The baby clinic was held each Tuesday between 2-4pm and it was suggested that maybe the church could do something to offer a friendly meeting place for often lonely mums in our community.
A small room is set up with toys, crayons etc for toddlers.
Over the years we have met and become friends with many families. Been a listening ear when needed, made cups of tea and coffee and juice too numerous to think about!
4th Falkirk Girls Brigade officers are around every week preparing and making items for fund raising etc. Their children drop in after school. Homework is ever known to be attempted.
Hallglen Community Wardens call in most weeks, so people are able to discuss any community problems they may have or can be pointed in the right direction.
Although the clinic hours have reduced, people of all ages drop in for a chat. Wonderful to meet again these little people growing up.
